Sights of Tokyo's Fancy Attractions

Tokyo, Japan provides any tourist with beautiful experiences, and that is mainly due to the many fascinating sights that it offers. There are many prefectures and cities that can be found just in Tokyo itself. Amongst its most popular and interesting ones are Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku. These places are not only teeming with people from all walks of life, you can find all the little quirks and interesting sights that are a must visit for all visitors to Tokyo.

Shinjuku has two main halves where the commercial and business centres can be found. You can find the train station with the heaviest human traffic in the world, with a few million commuters passing through it daily. That is hardly surprising considering the location of the station in Tokyo’s commercial heart, as well as the densely populated country that is Japan. Shinjuku has everything that a tourist would want in an attraction. It combines modernism with the ancient traditions of Japan. Multi-coloured neon lights cover the many skyscrapers, which any visitor would have their fill of retail shops, bars and restaurants. Trying to book low cost accommodation in Tokyo is a breeze in Shinjuku, with the many budget hotels that can be found there.

Shinjuku is also the place for all sorts of entertainment. Kabukicho is the most famous of the lot, especially when it comes to nightlife. Polite bar owners and bouncers will line the streets requesting your patronage, but if that is not your cup of tea, there are also a number of parks, pachinko parlours, cinemas and shopping malls that line its streets. The Shinjuku Gyoen Imperial Gardens are a favourite with both locals and tourists with the massive and elaborate park a peaceful haven snuck deep within the crowded and bustling surroundings. This is also one of the prime spots to observe the annual cherry blossoms that so many Japanese and foreigners flock to every year.

Shibuya and Harajuku are considered to be smaller scaled-down versions of Shinjuku, with their primary focus on the young. As a result, fashion and shopping are the main themes found in both areas, with the latter offering ancient Japanese history right next to modern trends and obsessions, such as the anime cosplayers on Harajuku Bridge. The Meiji Shrine is the focal point of Harajuku, where Japanese of all ages flock to daily to offer their prayers. Shibuya is often considered the Asian fashion capital of the world, with its many independant fashion shops lining the streets along with the popular eateries, bars and entertainment attractions.

Trying to find accommodation in the three districts of Tokyo offers the tourist a host of options. There are classy five star hotels to budget business hotels and other cheap Tokyo hotels. With Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku all located on the central Japan Rail Yamanote line, planning your stay within these areas will mean convenience and endless options when it comes to entertainment, sights and sounds.

Help answer the question about Pachinko

to bring the success of PACHINKO machine in japan to North America. what to do?
In Japan today, there are many office workers play pachinko for fun. its a kind of ganble that is most popular in Japan. they use a machine that shoots balls and if the balls get in to specific part the slot turns. we can controll machinese by the positioning of the metal sticks or we can use computers to controll them. i would like to bring this machine to North America so we can enjoy them as well. its sort of like casino, but the rule is more strictly simpler and you can win huge amount of money from just a scratch of money. but how come its not introduced to our society yet? anybody give me suggestion to start this new business in here. and would you think it is a great investment to start this. any legal issue toward this? thank you

I've been looking into this as well…
So far I've only found this one seller of modern machines online.

    http://www.slot-pachinko.com/2004PACHINKO.HTM

I only came across this from a search on e-bay.

For those of you who have yet to experience the fun of it, pachinko is a Japanese-style pinball machine that is vertically-oriented, as opposed to the pinball field, which is slanted 45 degrees. Will it make it big in the US? Well, the chances are pretty good. As you just mentioned, it is a big industry in Japan, and most pachinko parlors have slot machines with anime characters printed on them as well. I understand Americans in general enjoy both slot machines and anime, and if that's the case, there's a good chance that someday it'll be a smash hit.

    1900- 2500 balls

    >What do you need to know before getting in?

You don't need any skill to work part-time at pachinko parlor. In fact, other part-time jobs do not require skills, either.

If you know and like pachinko, it's plus.

    >What will they teach you?

    How to maintain pachinko machines
    How to clean the hall
    How to treat customers

But basically the job is very easy and simple, like carrying boxes. That's what part-time workers do.

    >Parlors are always recruiting but is it as hard as it seems to get the job?

I don't think it's difficult. But as we are in recession now, it could be difficult in some cases.

In your cases, you need visa and Japanese skill. But you can't get working visa with part-time job. You have to have student visa or something else so that you have right to work.

It depends on how much it's been used so far. They say it's usually 1-3 years. Or they do not use it so long because they need to replace it with the latest ones.

  8. JZX Says:

They are legal and you can get them here:

    Google is your friend.

There's no shortage of places in California that will happily sell you a pachinko machine. (I have no idea what you mean by "pachinko pinball," those are two different types of amusement machines.) Both pachinko and pinball have been legal in California for DECADES.

    As for prizes…

Cops aren't going to break down your door for gambling with friends. They've got more important crimes to pursue.

Basically, pachinko parlors are everywhere in Japan or in Tokyo.

You won't have any difficulty in finding one in Tokyo.

If there is any gaijin friendly one, I can't find if one parlor is gaijin friendly unless I actually visit every parlor.

There may be some in Los Angeles. There's the Commerce Casino outside LA which is mostly an Asian clientele, so that may be a possibility. And there's a place called Pachinko Palace in Northridge, CA, but they don't have a website.

There's also a place called Pacific Rim Pachinko in Anaheim, CA, but again, they don't have a website.
