Playing poker online is fast becoming a way for many to enjoy the sport of poker without all the hassles of traveling to another state or getting out in all kinds of weather to find a casino. Many states in the US do not even have one casino with any type of table games, thus many individuals cannot just drive down the street to play a hand. They must go on vacation to find a casino, thus the main reason online poker is so popular. However, do people real win at online casinos? The answer is yes, but you must know how to play in the virtual world in order to win.

Online poker is pretty much the same as in a casino. You can play in a virtual world today and even in a 3D world, making the game even more enjoyable. The 3D games are practically like being there only without all the noise that you found at casinos.

To win at online poker games, you still play just about, like you would in a casino. You should start out by playing your highest hand at the beginning of the poker game. You should also remember the old saying, “know when to hold ‘em and know when to fold”. If you think, you have a bad hand, fold. This way you will not lose as much, because no one wins every time. Online, you can watch the player’s faces and learn if they are bluffing, it is better to fold than lose a huge amount of money.

As you enter a poker room, observe before joining in. What are the stacks? If they are higher than you wish to lose, then leave. You can find a room where the stacks are not as high and you can enjoy winning.

If you are losing, lower your bet. You do not always have to bet the max. This will also help you win while minimizing your losses.

Even though, you are playing online, try to get to know the other players. Learn how they bet, their strategies, etc…, by watching the game prior to joining in if possible. You must still learn how to outsmart the other poker players in the room if you wish to win.

Not only must you learn about the other players, but you must also learn how to bet. Betting defensively is the best option. Learn how to bluff your opponents. This is a great way to win at any poker game. Your bluffs may not work on the hardcore players, but new poker players will fall into your trap.

Learning the art of poker play is a skill that takes a whole lot of time. It’s no wonder that poker players and intending poker players sometimes feel a little overwhelmed when it comes to picking the best online poker guide as a resource to help them pave the way towards better poker plays.

Luckily that’s all about to change because 5plusnet poker guide<strong> is compiled by poker industry professionals who have player interests at heart. Indeed the fact that online casinos only profit off the rake and don’t actually lay claim to any of the online poker ‘pot’ is reason enough to believe that casinos and poker sites actually do want people to learn to play and keep them playing by providing them with as much information as possible to keep them at the tables.

Poker tips and tricks

There are many tips which online poker players can take with them when it comes to enjoying this great game. Foremost among them is the ability to be able to control emotional urges to raise or fold, that eagerness to quickly jump in or bail out is as evident as the smile forming at the corner of a player’s lips when sensing imminent victory. Poker is all about control. It’s about controlling those urges and playing those hands as professionally as possible without giving too much – if anything – away to others.

Remember that going to poker school

As players inherently do when they read online poker guides – is as much about reading the information as it is about taking it in and applying it. Poker requires discipline. That comes in the form of knowing how much you can afford to wager – before the gaming has started. Going in with a blank check approach is feeble. If you’re not accustomed to budgeting, take a 101 course and learn to know what you have to gamble with before you lose what you don’t. Luckily you can enjoy playing for free before you face real-money plays at your favorite game of poker. And online poker offers such low-limit gaming that it’s affordable to most everyone who wants to enjoy some good poker action. The education begins…

When people speak of poker, there is one name that cuts above the rest of the poker classification—the Texas Hold ‘em poker. This type of poker is considered to be the most popular type being played in the casinos today, whether online or in real casinos.

Generally, Texas Hold ‘Em Poker starts with a batch of two players situated at the left of the “dealer button.” This dealer buttons refers to the round disc being passed on clockwise on each player. It signifies who will be dealer in the event that the deal was move forward from one player to another.

The betting starts on the first part of the game where the money is placed into the pot before dealing the cards. Normally, the first blind is the one that places half of the required minimum stake. The first blind refers to the player situated at the left of the dealer. The second blind, on the other hand, is the one responsible in placing the full minimum required bet.

Since the very object of the game is to win whatever is in the pot, it is best to know some rules or strategies so as to get an edge over the other players. Here’s how:

1. The table.

When a player is playing Texas hold ‘em poker, the best thing that he or she should consider is selecting the table. This is because players, regardless of their skills in playing the game, will be constrained to give their best shots if the table is too assertive, too rigid or too loose, or if it consists of players that are more skillful.

The bottom line: Even if the essence of winning the game is directly affected by the skills of the player, it is still best to play on a table that has few raisers but many callers.

The logic behind this concept is based on the fact that the more raisers there are in a table, the lesser the chances of winning the game.

2. When a player is in the early position, it is best to raise with K-K, A-K, and A-As, then, with A-Qs, Q-Q, J-J, A-K, T-T, have a call and then fold everything else.

3. For players who already have a remarkable hand starters, especially when he or she has a high pair, say JJ or even higher, it is best not to hesitate raising it before the flop.

Indeed, playing Texas hold ‘em poker requires skills also. It is not all based on gambling. This just goes to show that games like this requires both luck and skill to win the pot.

A amazing hands for all the players. Who was the winner ??
Help answer the question about Poker
How do I become a more aggressive poker player?
It may sound like a bit of a stupid question – obv just bet and raise more. But when I try to become more aggressive like you see on TV then I bust of tournaments very quickly, and people start to call my bets with high cards on the river!

How do these aggressive poker players like Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey do so well??

What’s makes a aggressive poker player? And how do I become a more aggressive poker player?

Thanks!

Playing online poker is not the same as playing in person, as you cannot watch body language, which is a great advantage if you want to win. However, there are ways you can read the action of other poker players if you know what to look for in an online poker game.

The first thing you should pay attention to is how long it takes the person to place a bet. This is known as the stall. However, many experienced players are now using this method to try to fool other players. The best way for the stall method to work is that you must know the players in the room. After you play a room awhile, you will get to know the regulars and learn who is an expert. Once you know this, then the stall method will help you know which players are new. Inexperienced players often stall due to the fact they are not sure how much to bet even if they have a great hand. Just watch your step, remember pros are now using the same method to side track you.

Watch for players that have been playing rather quickly and then all of a sudden stall or vice versa one that has been thinking a bit before betting and then bets quickly after being dealt a hand. Either one of these could mean they have something good in their hand. No matter whether you are playing online or offline, you can learn behavior patterns of other poker players and get the edge.

The pattern of poker players is probably the most important factor with online poker. Since you cannot watch their faces, you can still watch the patterns that are there from betting, to calling, to raising. You should pay attention to the way in which each player bets compared to the size of the pot as well. Online players are normally those that play all the time, they have their own routine and patterns, just as in real life. These are things you must learn if you want to win at any online poker game.

Watch those chat boxes. Yes, it can be fun to chat with your friends; however, you can also be heckled just like in real life. A matter of fact, the chat box might be your worst enemy. They can yell at you with all capitals, use rolling smiley faces, and more to distract you from your main goal. You will hear all kinds of insults such as “newbie”, the “game room cheats”, and so on and so forth. Anything to get your mind off the game and watching the other players.

Of course, you cannot watch the other players in your poker room, but you can watch the way they play and learn from experience how to read online poker players.

High Stakes Poker Season 5 Episode 7 Part 2
Help answer the question about Poker
How does the general public perceive poker or professional poker players?
What do people generally link poker players with?
I am doing a university study on gambling(specifically poker) so anyone's replies are appreciated. It seems to me that many people aren't very enthusiastic about the notion of people playing poker for a living.

What do females and/or working males think about poker in general? Would you be weary of dating or befriending someone who plays poker? is it seen as 'sleazy' or in a negative light by alot of people?
what do you friends think?
thanks a lot for your input.

Folding poker tables add an element of fun to your home poker games that just isn’t there when you play on your kitchen table. Like being in a casino, there is an exciting Vegas feel when you splash the pot on the colorful poker felt and out bluff your competition across the table.

So if your poker games with your friends and family are getting a little stale, look at these wonderful benefits when you have your own poker table.

<strong>Folding poker tables make the game more realistic. As stated before, instead of throwing your old army blanket over the dining room table and it bunching up when you try to rake in the chips, a poker table has a felt playing area. Under the felt is a pad that absorbs the sound when your chips hit the table which sounds more authentic then that wooden echo and the chips bouncing all over the place, just like real casino tables.

Folding poker tables have features for comfort and convenience. After long hours with your arms creased on the edge of a hard wooden table, you start to get pretty uncomfortable. Poker tables have cushioned armrests that surround the entire perimeter of the table to rest your arms on. They also have built in beverage holders for every player so you have a place to keep that beer from spilling all over the table.

Folding poker tables can be stored easily. Unlike a billiards table, when your poker game is over these can be folded up and put away, ready for your next game. And setup is just as easy. You are ready to play in a few moments. Poker tables are heavy, but they are still portable. You could fold it up and take it to a friends house if your game rotates.

Folding poker tables come in two common shapes, oval for larger games and octagon for smaller more personal games. For those large tournament games with more than 7 or 8 people, the oval tables can be as long as 7 or 8 feet long and have up to 10 player positions. The octagons are 4 feet across and are for up to 8 players where everyone sits facing each other, and all players can reach the pot.

If you have been putting off getting a folding poker table, I hope this has helped encourage you with the reasons why you really do want one. My games have never been as much fun as when I started using a poker table for my home games.

A little look at budget management – now trust me this will improve your game providing you stick to rules…

The good thing about poker these days is there is always a game to be found online regardless of your budget, but not every player stays in their budget range. The problem for a lot of players is that a large majority of people still look at poker as 30 minutes of gambling – but these sorts of player will tend to deposit a certain amount and put the whole lot at risk in a mater of minutes.

So what should we do?

Well, different people deal with this principle in different ways – personally, if I know I have a certain budget to play with, then I like to stick to a few (in my opinion) helpful rules. Say I have a certain amount as my bankroll for one day, in my first game I will look to put between 20 to 25% at risk. So lets say I’m risking 25% in my first sit down, and assume things went badly, so I’ve lost the 25% of my initial budget.

Ok, so I’m down but I’m not out, at least I’m managing my funds, and giving myself the best chance to get back in the game. So now we must go out to play again with 75% of your initial budget remaining – so in order to ensure I last a few more games, I’m going to set myself 25% of what I have left to play with, so even if the worst were still to happen in this game, I’ll still have over half (56.25%) of what I started with, rather than nothing.

However, obviously saying that you’ll lose (at worst) 43.75% of your budget in two games is a worst case scenario – we’re hoping that, with our help, you aren’t losing at all and you’re on your way to becoming a poker shark!

So on this second stage of play, let’s say I’ve had a good win and increased my bankroll – now, rather than go and risk all my winnings, I’ll apply the same rules to what I can risk in the next game. This will mean that regardless of the result in the next game, you’ve still got a good portion of your winnings.

Trust me when I say that small profits are much better than big losses.

Keep this up and you will be making a tidy profit in no time, and even if you fail to win – and with the help on this site in our video lessons section or the information in our blogs, you shouldn’t – then the amount of game-play you will get for your cash, and level of experience will no doubt increase.

How long could, say £100 last on a 25% scale? Let’s work it out…see the handy table on our site. Click here!

So, sticking to this rule we’d get 11 games out of our money – however, this is a real worst case scenario, but does show that for this money you’re getting a lot of gaming experience. Obviously, if you’ve been working through the advice we’ve been giving out, for free, in our videos, blogs or help-sheets, then you really shouldn’t be losing 11 games in a row anyway.

Should I use aggressive play or tight play? I suspect tight play is better as they will call too often and catch out any bluffs. The trouble is I may become a grinder and it will take ages to win. Any other suggestions?

Gambling is such a lucrative activity where gains are manifested only to those who have access to it.

Generally, gambling is considered as a game of chance. Everybody would love to gamble because of the fact that it could provide them easy money without having to toil and wait longer.

Others contend that the reason why people love gambling is based on the fact that they consider it as a play, a game that gives them the kind of satisfaction that they need. They find it as an outlet that deviates from the usual life they have whenever they are at work or at home.

The Gambling People

In a typical casino environment, people who are seen playing poker, blackjack, roulettes, etc. usually come from different walks of life.

Normally, they would put a reasonable bet on something that they think would be enough to give them back their stakes plus a hefty amount of money if ever they win.

But there are people who place bets or stakes with large amount of money. These people are known as the high-rollers of the casino. These high rollers are those that usually deposit $1,000 or more and certainly do not look for offers such as no deposit poker bonus and freeroll poker sites.

The reason why high rollers exist in the casinos is based on the fact that there are special bonuses that are only designated to people who deposit large amounts of money. And most often than not, these high rollers are the ones that usually win and take the money from other bets.

No wonder why a particular thinking had evolved. This is known as the high-rollers mindset.

The high rollers mindset is a way of thinking of most casino players or gamblers that conceptualizes the idea that the higher the bet, the higher the chances of winning and getting bigger amount of money.

High-rollers mindset is usually employed by high-rollers or those who gamble a lot of money. They believe that by placing large amounts of money as their bets, they would be able to get the special bonuses being offered by the casino. Plus, they can even have more benefits that are only entitled to the high rollers if ever they get to win the game.

Having a high-roller mindset is not at all wrong, especially if a person has a lot of money to bet. The only drawback is that it tends to let a person gamble a lot of money just for the thought that he or she might win.

The bottom line: high rollers who gamble more have higher chances of losing more. After all, it’s still gambling where people are never sure if they will win or not.
